When people in Oman search "restaurant near me" or "AC repair Muscat", Google shows a map with businesses first. If you are not on that map, those customers go to your competitors. Adding your business is free. Here is how.
1. Check if your business is already listed
Search your business name on Google Maps. Someone may have added it already. If you find it, choose "Claim this business" instead of creating a new one.
2. Create your Google Business Profile
- Go to Google Business Profile and sign in with your Google account.
- Enter your business name exactly as it appears on your sign.
- Choose the main category, like "Restaurant" or "Car rental agency".
- Add your address and place the pin exactly, or set a service area if you visit customers.
- Add your phone number and website.
3. Verify your business
Google decides how you verify: a short video of your shop and sign, a phone call or SMS, an email, or sometimes a postcard. Follow the steps carefully; verification can take a few days.
4. Complete every section
- Opening hours, including Ramadan and holiday hours.
- Services or products with prices.
- At least 10 good photos: outside, inside, team and products.
- A short description of what you do and where.
- WhatsApp or booking link.
5. Keep it active
Post offers or news once or twice a month, add new photos and answer questions. Active, complete profiles tend to show up more often.
6. Get reviews the right way
Share your review link with real customers after a good experience. Never buy or fake reviews: Google can remove them or suspend your profile.
