How to Write Title Tags and Meta Descriptions That Get More Clicks – guide by arafatbin.com

When your page appears on Google, the title and the short text under it are often the first thing a customer sees. Good ones bring more clicks, even without a higher ranking. Here is how to write them.

Title tags: the most important words on the page

  • Keep it around 50–60 characters so Google does not cut it off.
  • Put the main keyword near the start.
  • Add your city or country for local searches.
  • End with your brand name if there is room.
  • Make every page title different.

Example

Weak: "Home". Better: "Car Rental in Salalah | Daily & Monthly Cars | Desert Drive".

Meta descriptions: your small advert

  • About 140–160 characters.
  • Explain what the page offers in plain words.
  • Include the keyword; Google shows it in bold when it matches.
  • Add a reason to click: price, offer, free delivery or "book on WhatsApp".

Example

"Rent a car in Salalah from OMR 9 a day. Free airport delivery, full insurance and booking on WhatsApp in 2 minutes."

Common mistakes

  • The same title on every page.
  • Stuffing many keywords into one title.
  • Titles that do not match the page, which makes people leave fast.
  • Leaving the description empty, so Google picks random text.

Arabic and English pages

If your site has Arabic pages, write separate Arabic titles and descriptions rather than translating word for word, and use the phrases Arabic speakers actually search.

Measure and improve

In Google Search Console you can see which pages get impressions but few clicks. Rewrite their titles and descriptions and check again after a few weeks.
