A large share of searches in the Gulf are typed in Arabic, and many businesses only optimise their English pages. That leaves an opportunity: with good Arabic pages you can often rank faster in Arabic search.
1. Research Arabic keywords separately
Do not just translate your English keywords. People search with different words, spellings and dialect terms. Look at Google suggestions in Arabic and the searches in your Search Console.
2. Mind spelling variations
Arabic words can be written in more than one way, for example with or without hamza, or with ة or ه at the end. Use the most common form in titles and include variations naturally in the text.
3. Write real Arabic content
Pages written for Arabic readers, not literal translations, keep visitors longer and explain your services better.
4. Arabic titles, descriptions and URLs
- Write Arabic title tags and meta descriptions for each Arabic page.
- Keep URLs short; many sites use English words in URLs for both languages.
- Add Arabic alt text to images.
5. Tell Google about your languages
Use hreflang tags so Google shows Arabic pages to Arabic searchers and English pages to English searchers, and list both in your sitemap.
6. Local signals
Add your business name and address in Arabic on your Google Business Profile and website, and get reviews in both languages.
7. Measure
In Search Console, filter queries containing Arabic words to see what brings visitors and where to improve.
